Waxworks

Waxworks always strike me as a very Victorian entertainment. They’re interesting, but kind of creepy. (Although if you really want to talk creepy, you should look at how Victorians used taxidermy. They’d do things like stuff kittens and set them up as if at a tea party, in costume! Ugh)

So with steampunk on my mind, I couldn’t resist googling “waxworks” and, of course, first up was Madame Tussaud’s. But do you know what really surprised me? How effectively they’ve developed a website (modern tech) to showcase their much, much older tech, wax working. If you get a chance, drop by their website. I chose to “visit Hollywood” 🙂

PS if you’re curious about the Victorian taxidermy I mentioned, visit A Case of Curiosities.
