I’ve started outlining a third steampunk novella. Australian history is rich in topics for steampunk treatment.

I have diary-sized notebooks in which I scribble down character descriptions, plot ideas, historic details, steampunk gadgets and anything else that comes to mind and might have a place in the final story.

Fortunately, I can decipher my own handwriting — have you noticed how over the years the cursive script primary school teachers spent so long teaching us has gradually given way to a mashed up, linked up form of printing? Or is that just me 😉
