I read Steampunk: An Anthology of Fantastically Rich and Strange Stories over the weekend. For my review — short and sweet, I enjoyed it — I posted over at Goodreads. This post is more a musing on the advantages of an anthology.
A good anthology meets your expectations, then lures you into new territory. The best become old friends. Good editing provides you with a rich…not theme, maybe experience that is more than any particular story (or poem — I read a lot of poetry in anthologies).
This Steampunk anthology stretched my understanding of Steampunk — fabulously 🙂
