YouTube Debut

I find a new year often encourages me to try a new challenge. This year, my Escape Publishing editor, Nas Dean, gave me the idea for a book trailer. Now, I’ve never attempted creating a book trailer or anything like it in my life, but once I started thinking on it, I knew I’d have to try. And here it is, “Freo Inspiration”. In it I share some of my favourite photos and talk about the town of Fremantle which is the setting both for my steampunk stories, The Bustlepunk Chronicles, and my latest contemporary romance, Drawing Closer.

Now all I have to do is get over the whole “do I really sound like that?” thing πŸ™‚ Β The link will take you to the video on YouTube.

  1. What an excellent tour guide you are, Jenny. I loved having a brief glimpse of 'Freo' through your eyes and listening to your lovely voice. I sincerely hope we get the opportunity to meet as well although I don't think I sound anywhere near as interesting. πŸ™‚

    • Thanks, D. πŸ™‚

We're going to have to make sure we do dinner or breakfast or something! at the Freo conference so we definitely get the chance to chat. I've never been to a RWA conf before, so I'll be so nervous my voice'll squeak πŸ™‚

      • That would be lovely, Jenny. πŸ™‚ I've never been to a conference either. I tend to speak so fast the words blend together when I'm nervous so what a fine pair we'll make. lol

        • I nearly choked on my morning coffee when I had a thought — we can be the Chip & Dale chipmunks. Squeaky and fast talking πŸ™‚

We'll have to find out what the conference organisers have planned for us newbies πŸ™‚

    • Maria, thank you! I thought I sounded dorky, so audio-reassurance is MUCH appreciated. Helps that the Aussie accent comes through, I'm guessing πŸ™‚

    • Jackie, I'm going to modify my raindance (not that it's successful, drat this drought) to include a "may Jackie win millions" plea. I'd love to meet you. We could giggle at each other's accents πŸ™‚

    • Thanks! I was nervous trying something so new, but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

And I can't wait to meet you in Freo! πŸ™‚

  2. That's so cool, Jenny! Love how you're "mis-using" your degree. Can't wait for the RWA conference. Will be my first Freo visit and if these pics are anything to go by, I think I'm going to love it.

    • Thank you πŸ™‚

I can't wait to meet you in person! and you will definitely love Freo (note to self: remind weather gods not to send a storm)
