It’s Getting Close!

science fiction, new release,

Alasdair Shaw has a monthly round-up of science fiction novels. You’ll find my novel, Space Deputy, in there along with a spaceshipful (that’s a galactic measurement, I swear!) of intriguing books. Link:   https://alasdairshaw.blogspot.com/2018/08/august-scifi-roundup.html

Choosing the Date!

jenny schwartz, pnr,

Amaranthine Kiss will be out soon – I promise! I don’t have a firm date, though. One of the things to consider is other things happening around a book’s chosen release day. I’ve failed to do this in the past and as a result have had books lost to Thanksgiving or other distractions (although Thanksgiving is far more than a distraction!).

As well as big name days like Thanksgiving, there are also smaller days to consider. For example, I really like September 4, Eat an Extra Dessert Day.  Oh yeah, well worth celebrating! You can see the list of fun holidays here:   https://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/fun/

It’s only August – okay, nearly September – but I’m starting to think of next year. I’d like to actually hit my targets in 2019. So I’m thinking about my writing and publishing schedule and trying to be realistic. With my paranormal romance series, Old School, wrapping up with Shangri-La Spell later this year (cover reveal soon – it’s beautiful), I have a new opening in my calendar. I’m debating whether to balance my science fiction novels with a new paranormal romance series. But then, I really loved writing The Troll Bridge, so maybe I should allow myself a couple of stand-alone fantasy novels, instead. Decisions, decisions. And meantime, an idea for a post-apocalyptic fantasy series is nibbling away at me. I even have a title for the first book, The Griffin Candidate. I should probably accept that it’s what I’ll end up writing. Once I have a title and a concept, the temptation to write it tends to become irresistible. But still… So many ideas, only 24 hours in the day!

  1. I am eagerly awaiting anything you write. I adore Troll Bridge, It took me back to my teen years, Robin Mckinley and Andre Norton. On the other hand I love the Space Shaman series, I have all of them . I also have all of the Old School books , and some of the Collegeum books. Raid was a favorite, and I enjoyed Space Deputy. Please, write wherever and whatever the winds of creativity dictate. Thank you, Anne Luree
