More bad news… first cosmetics, then hair dye, and now it is perfume that is apparently toxic for us. The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics recently commissioned a lab test of 17 different fragrance products and a whole slew of harmful chemicals were found. Below are the results taken from the Safe Cosmetics website: – “Fourteen secret chemicals not listed on labels due to a loophole in federal law that allows companies to claim fragrances as trade secrets.” – “Ten sensitizing chemicals associated with allergic reactions such as asthma, wheezing, headaches and contact dermatitis.” – “Four hormone-disrupting chemicals linked to a range of health effects including sperm damage, thyroid disruption and cancer.” What about long term effects?
