Hexes Fly is out today! This is book 2 in my Caldryn Parliament series where I’m blending four genres—fantasy, science fiction, mystery, and romance—and indulging in some seriously fun adventures.

The Spring Ball on the first Saturday of Caldryn Parliament’s Spring Term is a night of glamour and power.
However, this year the witch clans are feuding, and when rival clans trade curses in the ballroom non-magical bystanders are the victims.
As people transform into animals, burst into unwilling song, or fall into magical slumber Vanda Kavanagh, the Warden of Caldryn Parliament, is suspicious.
The witches claim they never intended to hurt anyone, and Vanda believes them. So, who is using the witches as a stalking-horse for their own agenda, and what is it that they hope to achieve?
Most importantly, why can’t the witches undo their own hexes?
If the spells aren’t broken by the next full moon the curses will be permanent.
It’s been five months since the release of Stars Die, and hence, since I last sent out an author newsletter. I’ve been posting weekly on the Caldryn Parliament blog (which you can subscribe to by clicking the big subscribe button at the top of the website) and on my Facebook page.
Over on Goodreads I deleted my mish-mash of reviews and am starting again. Now, if you click on my bookshelf you’ll find books that I enjoyed reading and which I think you’ll also enjoy if you enjoy reading my books. Yes, this is a Jenny Schwartz Recommends… collection 😉 I’m still building it.
The third Caldryn Parliament novel, Rogue Lies, will be out late November. I’ll email you again then. Meantime, happy reading! And thank you, thank you, thank you for your reviews, comments, and messages. You keep me writing!

Wonderful book, I have been inhaling it. I like the idea of Justice as a Phoenix. It reflects his rise form the ashes of his life in Murdo to his current promence.
I am now teasing myself with suppositions as to the new twists in the next book. I hope that you will revisit this universe after this trilogy.
A side query – is Cauldryn a play on caldron? It seems suitable as both the parliament and the society it reflects is a marvelous stew of different elements?
First, YES!!! Caldryn is definitely a play on Cauldron and I am so thrilled you noticed!
And second, ooh I have such plans for Justus and some related shenanigans.
I really hope there’s enough enthusiasm for this series that I can play in the universe for maybe eight books. More if possible (yes, I have that many ideas – and some spin-of ones. I soooooo want to write space pirates out on the frontier)
Dear Jenny,
I really loved Hexes Fly. First I reread Stars Die. You have created such a complex world that I really needed to revisit to be sure I could enjoy all the details. The whole situation gets even more involved, and I am loving the mysteries being solved with the larger mysteries in the background.
I adore so many of your supporting characters. The mage hounds, the children, Justus and of course Gibby.
I am so looking forward to the next book.

Thanks, Anne! I’ve been trying to walk the fine line of allowing the world and characters to be as complex as they are and not overwhelming readers with all the details. I’m trying really, really hard in the next book as things I’ve been hinting toward start revealing themselves and leading to yet more complications!
