With Lost I’m wrapping up the year on a joyful note. The world knows we need it!

Merry Christmas, son. Don’t come home.

Stuck on Central Transit Station, Sergeant Ryan Dabrowski receives a Dear John letter from his family. The home he fought to protect doesn’t want him. He’s left too much of his body out among the stars. The aug-doctors patched him up better than new, but cyborg freaks aren’t welcome on Earth.

“Don’t ruin your sister’s life.”

But what about Rye’s life?

Lost is a short Christmas novella about found family, new beginnings, and believing that anything is possible. Merry Christmas! Happy Wishing Tree!

Since my last newsletter I’ve changed webhost and updated a few things on my website. The site won’t look new, but it should work better.

Although email remains a problem. It was a problem with the old site. It is, in a new and interesting way, a problem with the new site. Hopefully, it’s being fixed as you read this. However, if at any point a message to me receives no response, try contacting me on Facebook or Bluesky because I PROMISE I’m not ignoring you. It’s email gremlins!

Also, in transferring to this new site, I lost my old blog posts. It was totally my fault! That doesn’t make it easier to bear. So, this is the first blog post for the new site. (And you’ll be able to comment on it – I learned during the migration that my old WordPress settings had made it next to impossible to submit a comment on a blog post. That has been fixed. Huge apologies).

My author website isn’t the only project I’ve been working on (although it has been hands down the most frustrating). I’m preparing for the launch of my new series in February. I’ve jumped around a few different series (and universes) this year trying to wrap up my ideas. I might yet revisit a couple of the series, but for now, the characters are in a place where I can leave them happily.

Whilst I’m sharing ZERO hints about the new series, I’m working hard behind the scenes so that when it launches you’re hooked. I want readers enthralled so that I can play in this world for at least a year. No more jumping around. Total immersion. If the series is sufficiently successful, I’ll continue it into 2026. So, yeah, I’m investing a lot of hope and energy into this secret project. February will be scary!

As this is my last newsletter for 2024 I want to take the chance to thank you, again, for joining me on this reading/writing/publishing journey. I’d like to wish you a very early Happy New Year! May all of our dreams – and none of our nightmares – come true in 2025 😊

  1. I’ll definitely order Lost …
And, BTW … Alien Haunts was lovely. Right away I was hooked with:
Of all the bars in the galaxy, he had to walk into mine.

    • Thank you! That quote (of all the bars…) just popped into my head, and once it did, I HAD to write the book. Glad it hooked you too 🙂

    • Nancy, I hope it brings you joy! It was certainly written with a full heart wishing everyone happiness found in unexpected places – and a space station is certainly unexpected!

  2. Fantastic story, thank you very much I resent enjoyed it. . I’m really glad that Deirdre and Rye got their happy ending and that it wasn’t dependent on Rye sorting everything out by himself. I really needed that message today.

    • Katharine, I had to wrestle Rye into letting someone else contribute to the happy ever after. I’m glad I did. Like you, that message of allowing others to help resonates with me at the moment.
Thanks for taking the time to comment – every bit of encouragement keeps me writing 🙂

  3. I read Lost the same day you published it. As with all your novels and novellas, I never wanted it to end. Looking forward to your new series and I’m always grateful that I found you in this planet of over 8 billion humans.

    • Thank you! You just gave me happy tears with “I’m always grateful that I found you in this planet of over 8 billion humans.” I’m so glad you enjoyed Lost. It was a joy to share it.
