Gardens are Dangerous Renewal

Gulped by a snapdragon — magenta embalmed —
wriggling, squiggling down the stem
sliding green and gnarling
into roots — cool, dark, ferny —
to evaporate free, to fumble like fungi
spreading, searching, curling around a seed
shouting its scream of rebirth
shuddering upwards through earth, sky, universe
set free.
