Catching Up

So, midyear. Do you think someone could slow time down for me? I’m just not running fast enough. I feel very grateful (also shocked) that to date I’ve managed to hit my book every two months release schedule for 2019. Space Rodeo will be out in July, but after that things stretch to a three month gap before First Magic releases in October.

Thank you all for your support with the release of Loyal Magic on Monday. Your messages and reviews made me smile. There’s no joy quite like sharing a story.

loyal magic, fantasy, kindle unlimited,

I do try to pay back to the book community with my own reviews. If you’re in Australia, you can find them on Amazon.com.au under my profile, Otherwise your best option is to follow my Facebook review page, Always Another Great Book, where I focus on sharing books that I’ve found in Kindle Unlimited, Amazon’s lending library.

I’d like to give a big thank you to the US Navy. You won’t guess why! I’ve had mild insomnia (and sometimes not so mild) most of my life. A few weeks ago, I read about the US Navy’s sleeping technique. (Fast Company has a good summary). I adapted it a bit. I like to be tucked into bed rather than sitting up. But reminding myself that navy pilots can sleep sitting up and that I have a comfy bed is surprisingly helpful in driving away distractions. Worth a try if you’re chasing sleep.

If I ever find some free time (that mythical beast) OpenCulture.com could probably eat all of it. Free lectures, courses, movies and more.

And finally, a poem from me, written a few years ago. And yes, 40 is in my rear view mirror 🙂

Build Out

Build out
a highway of tarmac and oil slick.
Build it through the wild ocean.
Then, only then, will I answer the call,
“Cast out into the deep.”

First, I would tame and frame it;
push forward rules and knowledge.
Forty years I have built these highways.
“Cast out into the deep.”

Such a mystical reason that He walked on water.
There is no path, no forward or back,
no choice. No solid ground.
Into the deep – pure faith.

Forty years of highways washed away.
