New Release: House In Hiding

It’s here! House In Hiding, the second book in the Uncertain Sanctuary series, released today. How can you resist finding out what the Emperor wants of Kira, if Madra can avoid becoming a war cat (ssh, don’t tell Kira, but he doesn’t want to avoid that fate), and how the House and household deal with a whole array of new problems?

Reality’s newest sorcerer doesn’t want trouble, but it finds her anyway.

Just when Kira thinks she is getting a handle on what it means to be a sorcerer, the Emperor calls and drops a bundle of trouble in her lap. And he’s not the only one. For a woman intent on protecting her privacy, a whole lot of people seem to know how to contact Kira to draw her into their problems.

But when one of those problems involves saving children’s lives, how can Kira refuse to help?

Magic is misbehaving across Reality and Kira sets out to discover why. Her allies stand ready to help—and hinder—as she traverses the paths of Reality in a House which is developing its own quirky personality.

House In Hiding is a compelling and original fantasy novel of multiple worlds and beguiling mystery in the tradition of Ursula Le Guin and Diana Wynne Jones.

  1. Dear Jenny, Thank you so much for this lovely book. I enjoyed every page. What a marvelous imagination you have. The new vistas were varied , the new characters enjoyable, and I can not wait for the next book! I was happy to learn more about Evander, I can not help but wonder about the other three cyborg elves.
I was happy that Kira and the gang were able to help all the children. I still am saddened by an alley where AIs hung out waiting . This is a time for positives. Hope you are well and enjoying the book being released. Of course I reread the first house book several weeks ago to get ready for this one. In the midst of pandemic, fires here in California, and general strangeness, I always find escape and happiness in your books. Thank you for the gift! Anne Luree/schmetterlink
