The Ceph Sector
Thank you all so much for your patience. I’ve been promising The Ceph Sector for ages, and it’s finally here! For a short while it’ll be discounted to 99c (buy link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CMRH2ZY/ ). Jaya and Vulf (not to mention Ahab) are adventuring again.
The legendary Ceph have been in stasis for forty two millennia. In a century, they’ll wake. History remembers them as an unstoppable force, employing a mysterious power to decimate sentient life on the planets they attacked.
Jaya’s first mission as a new Shaman Justice is to lead an expedition into the perilous Ceph Sector. If she can learn how to contain or fight the sha-energy-using Ceph, Galaxy Proper might let them live. If not, destroying the Ceph’s home world, with all of them on it, will prevent the Ceph from ever waking.
Jaya will do anything to avoid the annihilation of an entire sentient species. But she has no idea what her compassionate instincts will cost her. She has a century in which to save the Ceph—unless they wake early.

General Catch-up
Getting these two novels ready to go has meant putting almost everything else on hold. You’ll probably have noticed how few posts I’ve written lately. If it wasn’t for the novel, it pretty much got pushed aside. Even now, I have two more novels to hurry up and get done – yes, I’ll finally wrap up my paranormal romance Old School series. Amaranthine Kiss and Shangri-La Spell are coming!
Saving time becomes an obsession when you’re this busy. One of the things I begrudge when I’m preoccupied with writing is meal preparation. When everything is normal(ish) I love cooking. But when things are hectic, all I want is fast, simple, healthy food. I have a few cheat dishes. Things like slapping smoked salmon slices between thin rice cakes. They’re so quick to make and clean up after, and they taste vaguely like sushi (all right, very vaguely).
I suspect we all have some of these cheat meals – like baked beans on toast. What are yours?
I think finally having The Ceph Sector out requires a second celebratory cup of coffee! 🙂 Cheers!

You have really kept your head down! What’s that bright thing up in the sky? Oh, yeah. That’s the sun. 🙂
I have a picky husband so I really have to think ahead if I want to get away with not cooking. I swear, sometimes all I want to do is eat a few chips or have a salad. Himself wants a whole meal!
For days when I’m too busy or too tired, I depend on meals I’ve already batched cooked and frozen.
On days when there’s no time to defrost, I count on grilled cheese sandwiches, frozen pizzas, and shrimp pasta, which is super fast.
Mmmm pasta! That’s great for quick meals – and even picky eaters will usually accept pasta. Being organised enough to have frozen meals ready … that’s like achieving nirvana. My hat’s off to you, Maria.
