General Update, Waiting on July

I am trying really, really hard to stay on track, now. I tend to have a lovely plan for my writing year – then trash it. We’re almost halfway through 2018 (yikes!) and I want to get a few things done and into your hands for reading. So, there won’t be any sneaky little novellas before Space Deputy releases on July 12. You have no idea how tempted I am by novellas – so many ideas! – but I resisted their siren call.

Then late August, Amaranthine Kiss will finally be out (pre-order link soon – scroll down for the most intriguing snippet), closely followed by Shangri-la Spell (closely followed in the sense of an October release). That wraps up my paranormal romance Old School series.

After that, I’m fleeing Earth! The Shamans and Shifters series is calling. It got a sexy makeover recently. Well, its covers did. Do you like them?

kindle unlimited, science fiction, pnr,

I blog at the Here Be Magic speculative fiction blog about once a month. I had a bit of fun in April, sharing a post on what your favourite fairy tale says about you. I like fairy tales. Probably my favourite is Beauty and the Beast. I think I fell in love with it when I read Robin McKinley’s Beauty as a teenager. Beautiful.

fantasy, troll bridge, jenny schwartz,Speaking of fairy tales, my own, The Troll Bridge, has a new cover.

Gorgeous, isn’t it? When I saw the photo, I knew it was perfect for Morgana.

Amaranthine Kiss – Snippet

The sixteen-year-old girl looked as if she was ninety years old. Straggly gray hair whisped around a wrinkled, sunken face. Her heart was failing. Her lungs barely inflated. Every additional second of life was a struggle.

Dr. Olivia Bennett leaned close. “Who did this to you, Jess? What did this to you?”

Soft as a sigh, final and heart-breaking, the dying girl answered. “A kiss.”

Stay tuned for the cover reveal! Amaranthine Kiss is out in August.

  1. If you’ve found something that works for you, then that is a good thing. 🙂 I certainly don’t want one of my favourite writers to burn out.

Glad you’re pleased with the new covers too. 🙂

And no, Ovaltine is nothing like chocolate.

  2. Wah! I don’t want ‘Old School’ to end. Well, I do because I want to read them, but wah! I don’t want them to end.

I love the new covers for your Shamans and Shifter series and Morgana looks beautiful in Troll Bridge. 🙂 Yay!

    • Old School is fun! But I’ve learned an important lesson – five books feels like a more natural story arc for a series – and I’ve heard other authors/readers discussing that as a burn-out point for series length. Still, letting go of Old School even after seven books will be hard.

I am so happy with the new covers 🙂

PS the Ovaltine is yummy, but it’s not chocolate!
