Release Day: Salvage

Salvage, book 1 in The Delphic Dame trilogy, is out today! This is a spin-off from The Adventures of a Xeno-Archaeologist five book series. Or in other words, this is Cherry’s story, spun-off from Nora’s.

When I was writing Nora’s story, I had to control the urge to add in Cherry’s drama and secrets – and those of a few other characters’. No one warns authors that refraining from adding to a book can be as hard as writing it. But Cherry needed her own story, without confusing Nora’s, and finally, here it is!

No one warned her about the alien baby.

Captain Cherry Pendit is a very improper oracle. A proper seer warns the hero, then retires to the luxury of her temple while the hero saves the day.

Pfft. Boring.

Cherry doesn’t need a hero to defy Fate. In fact, she intends to rescue the hero.

There might be a few bumps along the way—like an entire alien species her oracular talent didn’t warn her about—but Captain Cherry Pendit of the Delphic Dame is prepared to adapt and overcome.

If only the pirates, the good guys—who might be bad guys—and her allies would just stop freaking interfering by pushing their own stupid agendas.

Don’t they realize that if Cherry fails, humanity is doomed?

I am such a boring person. Every year I complain about the year running away from me too fast, and every year, it’s true!!! Is this a time management issue or is the Earth really spinning faster? *eyes alien overlords suspiciously*

If the rest of the year goes to plan, then Cherry’s trilogy will be complete this year. Scarper (yes, you can pre-order it https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C7K18BPP/ ) is out September 29, and I’m hoping that Shield wraps everything up in December.

After that, I had intended to kick off 2024 with the release of a third Pax Galactica novel, Alien Haunts. However, a Hidden Sanctuary series standalone novel has crashed the party and is insisting it should go first. This is one of my House books, but a very different sort of traveling home. A House By Any Other Name.

I’m happy and busy and I hope you are the same. It’s lovely that when the world gets crazy – have you seen the news lately? ugh – I can dive into one of my fictional worlds and, a few months later, release the book and pull you all in with me. At least in my worlds I can guarantee happy ever afters and the good guys always win.

You may have noticed I’m not much on Twitter lately. That whole busy life thing. I am trying to stay connected via a weekly post on Facebook. So, if you’re on Facebook, you can find me at https://www.facebook.com/JennySchwartz.author

  1. Dear Jenny,
I just finished Salvage. Oh my gosh you have done it again. I was struck in several previous books ( Blade Witch the space deputy and Shifters) with the sensitivity with which you addressed found families and the adoption of different aliens and robots. However I did a double take when I met Dylan. Somehow a crab son was harder for me than a robotically altered one. What a joy he is , and Hugh. So thank you for making me examine my ingrained prejudice, that I didn’t know I had!
I am looking forward to the next book. Cherry has grown and become a protagonist to adore.

    • Thanks, Dawn 🙂 I’m so happy that Cherry’s secrets finally get to escape. Keeping them has been surprisingly hard. LOL it’s not just reader-reviewers who struggle not to share spoilers.
